FULL TIME PROCUREMENT MANAGER
REMOTE (WORK FROM HOME/ANYWHERE)

NATURE OF THE BUSINESS:
High end cake and cupcake store in Australia

Compensation ranges from $3.50/hr depending on procurement and systems experience.

We’re a big celebration cake business in Sydney, Australia serving over a 1000 people each week custom cakes and cupcakes. To stay on top of trends and cater for the 5+ million people in Sydney, we have a dedicated and highly active procurement team buying everything from milk through to kid’s toys and gold leaf.

Our Team:

We have a team of 20 in Sydney and around 40 throughout the Philippines. Operating 24/7 there are always people on to assist.

We share a lot of funny cake memes and try to keep the environment positive as it is demanding and challenging.

This position involves:

– being a member of a small procurement team buying a wide range of items locally in Australia online, via email and sometimes via the phone.
– strong online research skills to find local and international suppliers of specific products and alternatives if any.
– receiving daily stock on hand updates from Sydney to analyze and order more stock according to a set of purchase rules.
– Monitoring suppliers while items are out of stock and purchase as soon as stock is back in.
– Monitoring shipping and delivery, both online, via remotely accessible cameras in Sydney, and receiving responses from the Sydney team to daily generated stock lists. For custom items for a specific cake, we generate a special label to make sure the stock is reserved for that order.
– Keeping track of received stock location (via special zones in Sydney) and communicating with Sydney staff where the stock is on request.
– Contribute to the team’s development with new ideas for stock items, new ways of doing things and constructively taking on feedback and improving the work methods of the business, the procurement team and yourself.
– We use a lot of technology to manage our systems so your ability to use Google Sheets/Excel in an intermediate capacity as well as general stock/accounting systems (similar to Xero) experience is preferred.

Your working hours and location:

– You’re welcome to work from any location where you’re able to focus on work and make the occasional call to a supplier/courier to follow up items.
– Our business operates 24/7 so we would like to work with you on a rotating roster that works for you. Noting our busiest times are SYD time 6am-10am and 4-6pm 7 days a week.
– The role is full time and there is complexity due to the specific nature of our items, urgency and sheer volume of SKUs we purchase.

WORK DAYS (PH Time)
Mondays to Fridays from 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM / 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
and alternate Saturday shift from 4:00 AM – 8:00 AM
