Children’s Book Illustrator AND Virtual Assistant Researcher

Hello! I am looking for someone with two specific skillsets.

1) Children’s book illustrations – The series is Prepper Pete and Friends – check out Click to view for details. I intend to start releasing several more books in the series in 2024. I need someone who can help storyboard and layout pages with fun “easter eggs” throughout. Not required, but if you really want to impress me, please make a digital version of Prepper Pete from the covers you see there – or just a portion!

2) Virtual Assistant Researcher – Think “successful book launch” – research the top podcasts/blogs/influencers in the topic. We will then reach out to them and propose a book review and/or author interview.

5 Requirements for Job Application:

1) Submit a short loom video introducing yourself and why you’ll be great at this job.

2) Submit some samples of your work illustrating a children’s book, along with time estimates on how long it took to draw.

3) Tell me in your video a strategy you might employ for a successful book launch.

4) Tell me a fun/interesting/cool fact about Amateur Radio (Ham Radio). Why? Because the next 6 books in the series will based on this topic and it needs to be cool/fun for readers. How would you “easter egg” it into an illustration? (For instance, many people build their own antennas – so I would have a poster on the wall with a “DIY Antenna” and actual dimensions listed on the poster). (Another example: Prepper Pete is an ant. They have a pet Aphid (because ants use aphids in real life kind of like a pet). We simply show Prepper Pete’s kid feeding the Aphid as the Easter Egg.)

5) Tell me any VA skills you have or something interesting about you and why you’d like to work together.

BONUS: If you can show me your version of Prepper Pete, that would be great but I know that might take a bit of time. Up to you if you want to do that, but it might be the deciding factor.

SALARY: Trial for the first month. When you’re not illustrating, you’ll be researching. First illustrations might take time, but my assumption is you’ll speed up over time. Salary will be dependent on output. As the books launch and make money, I will gladly bonuses pay based on royalties (I try to be very generous with those who stick with me).
