Children’s Book Illustrator Needed for Water Cycle Adventure Series

We are seeking a talented and imaginative illustrator to bring to life a charming and educational children’s book series focused on the adventures of Dewey, a spirited water droplet exploring the wonders of the water cycle. Our first book, aimed at children up to 5 years old, follows Dewey’s journey from the icy expanses of Antarctica through various transformative stages, culminating in his rise into the sky as vapor.

Key Responsibilities:

– Collaborate closely with the author to create engaging and age-appropriate illustrations that complement and enhance the story.
– Develop and design characters and environments that are visually appealing and resonate with a young audience.
– Produce vibrant full-page illustrations and smaller vignettes for a 28-page picture book, including the cover art.
– Incorporate elements of the story to introduce educational concepts in a fun and accessible way.
– Provide artwork in a digital format suitable for print publication.

Requirements:

– Proven experience in children’s book illustration or a related field, with a portfolio showcasing your style and creativity.
– Ability to translate written descriptions into compelling visual narratives.
– Proficiency with digital illustration tools and software.
– Strong communication skills and responsiveness to feedback.
– Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively throughout the project.
