Commercial Construction Estimator

Maxx Builders is looking for a Construction Estimator to join the team.

Job Responsibilities:

Have a good understanding of architectural, civil, structural and MEP plans.
Work on new construction, remodel and interior building projects
Have wide knowledge on commercial projects such as, gas stations, restaurants, clinics,
medical offices, corporate offices etc
Review Civil plans and perform takeoffs for Civil work in SF (Eg: Lime stabilization,
Building pad, Grading etc)
Review Civil & Structural plans, and soil report, and perform takeoffs for Concrete work
(Eg: 6” Paving in SF, Foundation in SF, Curb in LF etc )
Ability to review and follow specifications (Eg Flooring spec, wall coverings, Tile etc)
Review Architectural plans, and perform takeoffs for interior, exterior finishes, canopy,
roofing etc
Perform unit count takeoffs as necessary (Eg: Door count, Plumbing count etc)
Have a detailed knowledge of CSI divisions
Categorize takeoff trades in different divisions of the estimating tab on Planswift
Label all sheets accurately on Plan swift
Save takeoffs and transfer takeoffs files as necessary
Material takeoffs Cost Estimation using OST (On Screen takeoffs) Software, Planswift, and Bluebeam, RS Means for the following but not limited to:
— Concrete, Reinforcement, Formwork Takeoffs
— Masonry, Brick & Blockwork Takeoffs
— Drywall, Ceiling, Partition Wall Estimate
— Floor Finishes, Tiling & Stone Finishes Takeoffs
— Painting, Rendering, Cladding Estimate — Doors and Window, Glazing Takeoffs
— Carpentry and Lumber Takeoffs
— Roofing, Decking, Thermal and Moisture Protection Estimate
— Toilet and Bath Accessories Takeoffs
— Structural metals Estimate
— Mechanical/Plumbing (Stormwater, water, sewer) Takeoffs
— Electrical

Qualifications and Skills:

A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, architecture, or a similar field is required
At least 3 years of related experience is required
Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic
Ability to navigate specifications and plans
Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects
Ability to handle multiple assignments at once
Knowledge of the latest building codes
Close attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to stick to deadlines
Ability to take on on 1 to 3 projects at a time
Intermediate knowledge of excel, outlook, Gmail, google calendar, zoom meetings, box
and microsoft word
Positive attitude and timeliness
Ability to work M-F from 9AM to 6PM CST
