Community Impact Coordinator

Hi there! We are Roses of Joy, and we are working on a heartwarming community project called “Roses of Joy” to bring happiness to senior citizens in the Oakland Bay Area, Berkeley, and San Francisco. Our mission is to spread joy and foster community connections by giving away roses and personalized cards to seniors, creating a beautiful chain of kindness. We are also documenting this journey through a mini-documentary to showcase the impact of our efforts.

Responsibilities:

Research and Contact Senior Homes:
Find senior citizen homes in the Oakland Bay Area, Berkeley, and San Francisco.
Obtain names, addresses, and contact emails of these institutions.
Send initial outreach emails explaining the project and inviting them to participate.

Research and Contact Schools:
Find local schools in the Oakland Bay Area, Berkeley, and San Francisco.
Obtain contact information for school administrators or teachers.
Send emails inviting schools to participate by having students design and create cards.

Logistics Coordination:
Assist in organizing the timeline and logistics of buying, preparing, and distributing the roses and cards.
Coordinate with volunteers and the videographer to ensure smooth execution of the project.

Social Media and Community Engagement:
Help draft and schedule social media posts to recruit volunteers and keep the community updated on the project.
Reach out to local news outlets to cover the story.

Documentation Support:
Assist in collecting and organizing all documentation materials, including photos and videos from the project.
Help in drafting reports and updates on the project’s progress and impact.

Requirements:
Excellent communication skills.

Experience with research and outreach.
Familiarity with social media platforms.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
