Mr. Houseplant is an indoor plant expert and a social media influencer for houseplants and
houseplant care followed by over 500,000 followers on IG, YT, TikTok, FB and Twitter. He is
looking for a Community Manager for his indoor plant care blog and social media channels.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
95% percent of indoor plant care information online is incorrect, misleading or unclear.
As Mr. Houseplant’s Community Manager, you will be responsible for making sure that all
comments on social media channels and websites are answered in a kind and professional way.
You will make sure that community members receive correct, science-based information.
You will facilitate discussions and encourage participation and foster a safe and welcoming
environment.
You will receive detailed community management guidelines. Prior to start, you will also receive
paid training on Mr. Houseplant’s houseplant philosophy and some basic content management
guidelines.
Our team is fully remote, so you can work from any part of the world.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Monitor and respond to comments and community inquiries across various platforms
such as social media, forums, and website comments (Facebook, Facebook group,
YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and other channels)
-Facilitate discussions and encourage participation within the community
-Develop and implement strategies to build and nurture an active and engaged community
around the Mr. Houseplant brand
-Create compelling and relevant content to share with the community, including short
social media posts and newsletters
-Maintain a safe and welcoming environment within the community by moderating
content and addressing any violations of community guidelines
-Foster positive relationships and resolve conflicts among community members
YOU SHOULD HAVE:
-Excellent written and verbal English language skills (native-level)
-Technical knowledge about houseplants and houseplant care
-Strong diplomatic skills, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
-Familiarity with social media platforms, online forums, and community management
tools.
-Proven experience as a Community Manager or in a similar role preferable, not a must
-Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative ideas to enhance community
engagement.
