Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Compliance Manager to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the accuracy and completeness of customer files by verifying the inclusion of all necessary documents. The Compliance Manager will play a crucial role in developing and implementing compliance checklists to uphold record-keeping requirements. Responsibilities:
Documentation Verification:
Review customer files to ensure that all required documents are accurately included and meet compliance standards.
Collaborate with various departments to obtain missing or incomplete documentation.
Checklist Development:
Develop comprehensive checklists to guide the compliance verification process.
Regularly update checklists to incorporate any changes in compliance requirements.
Compliance Oversight:
Ensure adherence to record-keeping requirements and regulatory standards.
Monitor and implement changes to compliance policies as necessary.
Confidential Information Handling:
Handle confidential customer information with the utmost discretion and in compliance with privacy laws.
Establish and maintain secure procedures for the storage and handling of sensitive data.
Experience and Skills:
Demonstrated experience in tax preparation and a strong understanding of tax-related documentation.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and verifying documents.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and record-keeping standards.
Ability to create and implement effective compliance checklists.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a compliance role, preferably in the financial or tax preparation industry.
Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and documentation requirements.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
