Job Description

The Compliance Packaging Review Specialist works within the Quality & Compliance Department to review all MRO MaryRuth, LLC new and current finished product packaging, including labels, cartons, bottles, etc. The Specialist will ensure that all packaging and labeling are compliant with FDA 101 regulations and also any other relevant dietary supplement and food packaging regulations as needed. The Compliance Packaging Review Specialist will also review current claims substantiation per the most updated FTC and FDA regulations. This is a full-time (40 hr/wk) paid, salary-exempt, fully-remote position.

Responsibilities
Review MRO finished product packaging for compliance.
Examine all claims substantiation to relevant regulations.
Function as onsite expert of FDA 101 and FTC regulations.
Assess new and upcoming product packaging for compliance.
Stay up-to-date on any changes in regulations and requirements.
Track and organize findings using various quality and compliance platforms.
Communicate and resolve discrepancies, inaccuracies, and errors.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; advanced degree preferable (or equivalent experience).
Strong technical expertise in FDA 101 labeling regulations as well as those regulations governing flavor labeling.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Superb attention to detail. Must be willing and able to perform diligent and accurate reviews of product packaging.
Empathetic team-player.
Strong time and task management skills.
Proficient with Google Suite (or related software).
Experience in Asana or similar software (preferred).
Experience with Propel software (preferred).

Physical Requirements
Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including one’s human body.
This role involves sitting most of the time, but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
