We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our client. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our projects while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting our bid processes.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Demonstrate proficiency in using Estimating software to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment required for each project component.
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including material costs, labor costs, subcontractor bids, equipment rental expenses, and other project-related expenses.
Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness and accuracy in pricing.
Analyze cost data and provide recommendations to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and meeting project requirements.
Assist in the preparation of bid documents, including pricing proposals, bid forms, and qualification statements.
Maintain accurate and organized records of cost estimates, bid documents, and related correspondence.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between cost estimates and project plans.
Stay updated on industry trends, construction techniques, and material costs to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimation processes.
Education and Work Experience:
With a minimum of four (4) years’ experience working as an estimator in the construction industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Proficiency in using BuildXact software is required.
Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
