Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

– Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects.
– Identify and quantify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives.
– Obtain and analyze quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
– Prepare detailed take-offs and material quantities for use in estimating.
– Evaluate and recommend cost-effective solutions for construction methods, materials, and equipment.
– Maintain accurate records of estimates, including quantities, costs, and project specifications.
– Stay current with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and market conditions.
– Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
– Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
– Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
– Proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
– Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
– Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
– Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift, RSMeans) is a plus.
– Certification from a recognized estimating organization (e.g., AACE International, ASPE) is desirable.
