We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer/Coordinator to join our team.
Job Description:
As a Construction Project Engineer/Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction projects by managing the procurement process. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Creating Submittal Logs: Develop and maintain comprehensive submittal logs to track the submission and approval of all project-related documents.
2. Creating Work Orders: Generate accurate and detailed work orders for subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring all necessary information is included.
3. Creating RFI Logs: Maintain a detailed Request for Information (RFI) log, ensuring all queries and responses are accurately recorded and communicated.
4. Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials and services.
5. Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs by negotiating favorable terms with suppliers, managing budgets, and ensuring cost-effective procurement practices.
6. Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of construction materials and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
7. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations and standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site superintendents, engineers, and other team members to align procurement activities with project timelines and requirements.
9. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
– A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, supply chain management, or a similar field is preferred.
– Proven experience in construction coordination or a related role.
– Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy to ensure there are no mistakes in procurement activities.
– Strong organizational and time-management skills.
– Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
– Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
– In-depth knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
