Job Description

We seek a meticulous Content Brief Specialist and Copy Editor to fill a full-time position within our creative team. The successful candidate will be pivotal in developing content briefs and performing precise copy editing for blogs and service pages. Our diverse clientele spans numerous sectors, including therapy, legal, e-commerce, and insurance brands.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Brief Creation:
Develop detailed content briefs to guide writers in crafting well-structured and informative blogs and service pages.
Conduct extensive research to understand the unique, root, and rare attributes pertinent to different client industries like therapy, law, e-commerce, and insurance.
Ensure briefs are tailored to meet the digital marketing objectives of each client and resonate with their target audience.
Conduct thorough keyword research to identify relevant terms and phrases that should be incorporated into each header, aiding in SEO optimization.
Seek and utilize up-to-date studies and research data to enrich content briefs, ensuring the information is current and authoritative.
Instill a strong focus on topic adherence in content briefs, outlining clear objectives and sub-topics to ensure that writers stay on course, delivering highly relevant and engaging content to the target audience.
Adopt a reader-centric approach when creating content briefs by anticipating the reader’s most pressing questions and needs. Tailor the content objectives to address these areas directly.
Conduct a gap analysis of competitor content to identify and fill lacking areas, thereby offering the reader valuable insights they can’t find elsewhere.
Review and provide feedback on drafts to ensure the content remains on-topic, aligns with the outlined objectives, and meets the client’s expectations.
Establish a mechanism for regular interaction with writers during content creation to address any ambiguities, ensuring the content stays aligned with the specified topic and client’s objectives.
Acquire a deep understanding of when, why, and how to effectively interlink content to other relevant pieces on the client’s website, enhancing the user experience and SEO performance.
Review drafts to ensure appropriate interlinking has been executed, aligning with the outlined interlinking strategy and enhancing the overall content narrative.

Copy Editing:
Review and edit drafts meticulously, ensuring impeccable grammar, punctuation, and spelling, upholding the expected high standard of work.
Ensure the content strictly adheres to the company’s style guidelines and aligns with each client’s specific tone and voice, facilitating brand consistency across all content pieces.
Evaluate the text’s coherence, logic, and factual accuracy meticulously, ensuring the content remains on-topic and meets high-quality standards, reflecting a well-structured and insightful narrative.
Cross-verify the factual accuracy of the content by referencing reliable and up-to-date sources, ensuring that all claims, statistics, and references are accurate and current.
Collaborate with writers to address any discrepancies or areas of improvement, offering constructive feedback for revisions to enhance the quality and precision of the content.
Stay abreast of evolving language standards, industry terminology, and editorial guidelines to ensure the content is modern, relevant, and adheres to best practices.
Utilize digital tools and platforms for grammar checking, plagiarism detection, and SEO analysis to enhance editing, ensuring content is error-free and optimized for online visibility.
Monitor and track common errors or improvement areas and guide writers for continual improvement in content quality and alignment with client expectations.

Client & Team Coordination:
Communicate effectively and professionally with clients and team members to receive, comprehend, and act upon feedback, making necessary revisions promptly to uphold our high standard of work.
Establish a collaborative environment by working synergistically with writers, designers, and digital marketers, ensuring a seamless content creation process that results in high-quality, impactful content.
Offer constructive, clear, and actionable feedback to writers, aiding in the continuous improvement of their skills and, consequently, elevating the quality of the content produced.
Participate in regular team meetings and client consultations to stay updated on project objectives, progress, and changes in client preferences or market trends, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
Create and maintain a feedback loop for ongoing projects, ensuring that revisions are tracked, implemented, and communicated effectively to all involved parties.
Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging sharing of knowledge, experiences, and best practices among team members.
Utilize project management tools to track project timelines, deliverables, and client feedback, ensuring that all projects are completed on schedule and meet the client’s expectations.

Digital Marketing Awareness:
Maintain an understanding of digital marketing trends, SEO best practices, and evolving search engine algorithms to ensure the content created is optimized for online visibility and engagement.
Identify opportunities to optimize content for potential inclusion in featured snippets and “People Also Ask” sections on search engine result pages.
Analyze performance metrics and web analytics to assess the effectiveness of the content strategy and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
Collaborate with digital marketers to align content strategies with broader digital marketing goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to brand messaging and online engagement.
Understand the importance of keyword research and on-page SEO elements such as meta tags, header tags, and image alt texts, and ensure these elements are correctly addressed in content briefs and edited copies.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
Excellent command of the English language.
Strong research skills with the ability to create detailed content briefs.
Familiarity with basic SEO and digital marketing principles.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail.
