Content Editor (Blog Articles)

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Content Editor with a strong background in vetting, curating, and editing blog articles. The ideal candidate should be proficient in SEO principles and have expertise in keyword and topical research, along with the ability to identify and leverage current trends. Crucially, the candidate must be familiar with using AI tools for generating articles and competent in uploading and optimising content on various platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Article Vetting and Curating:

B. Evaluate and select submitted articles for quality, relevance, and alignment with our brand’s voice.
Guide AI-generated content towards meeting quality and relevance standards.

C. Editing and Proofreading:

D. Edit articles for clarity, coherence, readability, and SEO optimization.

E. Ensure all content, including AI-generated articles, meets high standards of grammar and style.

F. SEO and Keyword Research:
> Conduct in-depth keyword research to optimize content for search engines.
> Apply SEO best practices, including strategic keyword placement and meta-tagging.

G. Topical Research and Trend Analysis:
> Monitor industry trends and news to inform content creation and strategy.
> Use data analytics to identify popular topics and content gaps.

H. Content Management:
> Upload articles to our content management system or website, ensuring correct formatting and alignment with design standards.
> Optimize articles for web, including image placement, tagging, and layout adjustments.

REQUIREMENTS
> Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, or related field.
> Minimum 3 years of experience in content editing and digital marketing – perhaps in an online magazine role
> Preferably proficiency in using AI tools for content creation and familiar with content management systems.
> Strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, and digital media trends.

SKILLS:
> Expertise in SEO and keyword research.
> Preferable proficient in the use of AI tools for generating content.
> Excellent editing skills in English and strong attention to detail.
> Ability to manage and optimize content on digital platforms.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT:
> Remote, freelance position with flexible hours.
> Regular virtual meetings for updates and strategy discussions.

> Submit at least two samples of edited blog articles (preferably including AI-generated content).
