Job Description

Interested in a role that blends attention to detail and creativity? How about a role where you’ll be a valued team member with a salary and room to grow? At Craft Coffee Spot, we want to hire a content marketer for link building.

Link building has a negative connotation, but we think of this role differently. We’re not blindly increasing domain authority and spamming site owners. Instead, we want to build links the RIGHT way. We want to spread our message to real business owners with tailored and thoughtful emails. We need someone who can do custom outreach and personally convince peers our site is worth linking to. I think of this hire as a marketing expert who can connect with peers.

Our site has human-written, original articles on coffee brewing, reviews, and proprietary statistics articles that are link-worthy pieces. This site is a true passion project for myself, and I am heavily involved in coffee, including roasting. There’s a lot of care in our content, and we need someone who will put the same care into sharing our message.

You do not need years of experience. A little knowledge of link building and some experience sending cold emails is all you need. You’ll be given tools for the job and will pay for anything you need. You can work with our VA for prospecting, and we have access to courses to teach you the skills.

Good writing skills are a must. You are going to be sending lots of emails for this role. Yes, we use ChatGPT to draft emails, but there is a big difference between smashing the “generate response” button, and carefully writing a prompt and editing the output to make it personal. It’s important you know how to stand out while still being efficient.

Attention to detail is also an absolute must. You will be tracking lots of prospects and must carefully manage the pipeline. You must also carefully vet every potential link, as bad links can be catastrophic for the business. Make sure to use the secret word “turtle” in your application.-

This role will be a salaried position. The fixed payment is intentional – you are not compensated for building more links. You may not even build a single link in the first month; that’s fine! I don’t expect this person to build more than 5-10 links per month, even after they are fully trained. We’re paying for talent that focuses on good processes to build QUALITY links.

This role provides room to learn and grow as part of a team. We’ll have regular feedback sessions to ensure you’re on track. I’m thinking about the long-term future with this hire, as this will be our first, and hopefully last, link builder hire. Some of our early hires are still with us today, and their pay has increased with demonstrated success.

Please do not apply if you have a list of sites that sell links. We want people who enjoy the process of manual outreach. Agencies are welcome to apply, but I prefer an individual with a few clients at most.

REQUIREMENTS:
Good English skills, especially writing
Creative thinker: can come up with email campaigns that connect with site owners
Attention to detail: proficient at managing data and the inbox
Sound judgment and good common sense to vet prospects
Basic knowledge of link-building techniques and outreach tools is a big plus

BENEFITS:
Competitive salary and room to increase over time ($500-700/month)
Flexible work (although this does require regular time commitments)
A valued member of a team
