Position Overview
As an SEO & Marketing Assistant at 5Tales Marketing Agency, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our SEO and marketing efforts to enhance our online presence and drive effective client engagement. This role involves a variety of tasks, from keyword research to maintaining client information and ensuring quality assurance of our processes.
We will teach you SEO. What we are looking for is candidates with a strong understanding of written English and the ability to communicate effectively. You might be a journalism graduate or have experience as a writer or editor who is interested in learning SEO.
You will be part of a friendly and connected team who communicate daily and collaborate on client campaigns and projects frequently. This role has the opportunity to grow for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
SEO Optimisation: This includes tasks such as completing keyword research, optimising page titles, meta descriptions, H1 and H2 tags, implementing local business schema, resubmitting XML sitemaps, running Screaming Frog audits, and resolving issues in Google Search Console.
Content Management: Responsibilities involve ordering or researching SEO content, editing and proofreading new content, checking Australian spelling, plagiarism and grammar checks using Grammarly, and ensuring the accuracy of contact details in documents.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Includes tasks like reporting on SEO and digital marketing campaigns, setting up and using tools like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and SEO Yoast, and maintaining marketing dashboards.
Digital Marketing and Campaigns: Contributing to digital campaigns, creating chat GPT prompts or using , link building, creating social profiles, writing copy for ad variations, and optimising main pages with keywords.
Client Interaction and Communication: Handling client questions and complaint emails, and sending client campaign emails.
Technical SEO and Website Management: Involves creating files, checking broken links, compressing images, embedding Google Maps on key pages, reviewing URL structures, and managing page interlinking.
Team Collaboration and Support: Includes tasks like writing design or web development briefs and other activities that support teamwork and collaboration within the agency.
Non-Negotiables
Minimum 2 years experience in a professional writing role or University degree in Journalism or English
Proficiency with Google Sheets and Docs.
Interest in learning about SEO and digital marketing
Very good written and verbal communication skills
Adaptability. Able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions
Available full-time Monday-Friday between the hours 8:30am-5:00pm AEST
Organisation and self-discipline. We are a remote working digital marketing agency, so organisation and self-discipline are must have skills
Attention to Detail. Small changes can have significant impacts. A candidate with a meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy and quality in every task, is essential
Problem-Solving Skills: our work often involves tackling unexpected challenges. The ideal candidate should be a creative problem-solver, able to think outside the box to find solutions to content or SEO-related issues.
