Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Contract Digital Pattern Maker to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital role in in translating our customers’ unique body measurements and style selections into denim jean pant patterns using Tukatech’s CAD pattern-making software. Your expertise in digital pattern making will be critical in delivering an exceptional product (e.g., quality, fit) and customer experience (e.g., reasonable turnaround time) that bring customers joy.

This is an ongoing opportunity – we are looking to build a long-term relationship with people able to take on a flexible amount of work each week (i.e., sometimes 2 patterns a week, sometimes 10 patterns a week).

Expected Start Date: January 2023

Here’s how the process works:

1. Neems Jeans receives an order from a customer.
2. We send you the body dimensions, style selections, and a starting digital pattern file.
3. You adjust the digital pattern to achieve the target specs and requested shape within ~48 hours. Once you’re familiar with the process, we expect this step to take 30-45 mins per jean pair. You will be paid for each pant pattern successfully completed.
4. You send us the digital pattern to continue the manufacturing process (next step for the jeans = laser cutter).
5. We’ll share any customer feedback on your designs – complimentary and constructive – to help you grow in your role.

Technical requirements:
• Proficient in:
o creating digital patterns using software
o designing bottom patterns, particularly for jeans
o interpreting and translated customer preferences into digital patterns
o creating digital patterns that result in well-fitted garments, matching provided customer specifications without errors
• In-depth understanding of different jean fabric types and their behavior in pattern making; ability to adjust patterns accordingly

Non-technical requirements:
• Fluent in English or Spanish
• Demonstrated flexibility for scalability in a dynamic work environment (i.e., sometimes 2 patterns a week, sometimes 10 patterns a week).
• Clear, concise, and transparent communication; ability to provide updates and ask questions as needed
• Proven ability to adhere to deadlines without sacrificing output caliber
• Eagerness to learn and adapt based on guidance, including responding positively to constructive criticism and maintaining a can-do attitude

Other preferred qualifications:
• Experience using Tukatech digital software for denim pattern making
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to address obstacles independently as first line of defense
• Ability and interest in coaching others on the pattern making process, becoming the pattern maker to emulate
• Appetite for professional development and staying informed on latest pattern making advancements
