Job Description

We are actively seeking a qualified Lawyer based in the Philippines to join our growing Virtual Assistant agency. The ideal candidate will specialize in contract law with a strong emphasis on U.S. laws, particularly those relevant to the state of Illinois. Your primary responsibility will be to draft comprehensive contracts between our agency and the virtual assistants we hire. Additionally, you should have a deep understanding of the legal implications across different U.S. states and be able to make informed recommendations accordingly.

Responsibilities:

Drafting and revising contracts between our agency and virtual assistants
Consulting on U.S. laws and regulations, with a focus on Illinois state law
Providing guidance on legal aspects concerning the hiring of virtual assistants across various U.S. states
Making recommendations on states to potentially avoid due to complex or unfavorable employment laws
Collaborating with our internal team to ensure that contracts are compliant with legal norms
Conducting legal research to support contractual clauses
Keeping up-to-date with relevant U.S. legislation that may impact our contracts

Requirements:

Law degree and valid licensure to practice law in the Philippines
Strong understanding of U.S. contract law, specifically related to employment
Proficiency in conducting legal research
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to work in different time zones to coordinate with our Illinois-based team
Preferably has experience in dealing with international employment contracts
