Contract Position: Video Editor for YouTube

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Video Editor to join our team on a contract basis.

This individual will play a crucial role in creating engaging and dynamic content for our YouTube channel, which focuses on entrepreneurship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in video editing and animation, with a minimum of 5 years of experience using Adobe tools, including Premiere Pro and After Effects.

This position offers the flexibility of working from home, with an initial commitment of 20 hours per week and the potential to increase to 40 hours within 3-6 months, based on performance.

Responsibilities

– Edit and assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting on our YouTube channel.
– Work closely with the content team to understand the desired outcome and specifications for each video project.
– Incorporate creative elements and special effects using Adobe After Effects, as well as other animation tools, to enhance the visual impact of our videos.
– Select and combine the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical and smoothly running story, adhering to the specific editing style exemplified in the provided examples.
– Manage A-roll footage, integrate B-roll from stock footage websites, and synchronize with provided narration and music to create a cohesive and engaging narrative.
– Ensure the final product meets the required specifications and quality standards, including resolution and file format.
– Stay updated with the latest editing technologies and industry best practices to recommend improvements and innovations in our video production process.

Qualifications

– Minimum of 5 years of experience in video editing and animation, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
– Proven ability to create animations and visual effects that enhance storytelling and engage viewers.
– Familiarity with additional animation and editing tools is a plus.
– Excellent time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with remote teams.
– Must have access to a high-performance computer capable of rendering high-quality videos with After Effects animations.
– A keen eye for detail, aesthetic sense, and understanding of the best practices in video production.
