Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Controller/Bookkeeper to join our finance team and play a key role in our ambitious growth strategy. Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Oversee and maintain accurate financial records for all franchise units, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions, ensuring all financial activities are properly recorded and categorized.
Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses.
Collaborate with management to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on financial performance, highlighting trends and areas of opportunity or concern.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets for franchise units, working closely with department managers to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Analyze actual performance against budgeted targets, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to enhance financial performance.
Support the forecasting process by providing accurate and reliable financial data, trends, and projections.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting principles, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
Coordinate and assist in external audits, ensuring all documentation and supporting schedules are readily available.
Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.
Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate existing financial processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing streamlined procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial systems, automate workflows, and optimize reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation preferred).
Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar role, ideally in a multi-unit franchise or fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Proficiency in financial management software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
