General Job Description
The Copywriting/Marketing Assistant is responsible for writing and editing clear, compelling and creative content across various mediums for a range of different clients, each with their own unique services and brand voice, as well as organizing notes and supporting with project management. Our clients are small businesses or solopreneurs with a powerful mission and vision for helping others. Your care and passion for supporting our clients’ messages about transformation, possibility and empowerment is important.
The perfect candidate for this role will be someone who adores language, writing and communication, and has an eye for visual beauty/graphic design basics. You will be writing anything from email newsletters to blogs, website copy, social post captions, sales email sequences and more. You may occasionally be building that copy directly into a squarespace webpage, or an email newsletter in mailchimp or flodesk or posting directly onto social media platforms on behalf of our clients.
A good knowledge of heart-centered sales and marketing is essential. Your role is to portray our clients’ brand and values in a creative and compelling fashion to build relationships with the audience, increase brand awareness, attract leads and invite sales. The marketing strategy you will be contributing to for our clients is based on authenticity, generosity/adding value, and creativity – for example, using storytelling to connect.
You may also be asked to partner in the planning, development, creation and implementation of the marketing channels of the business and of the clients.

Responsibilities

? Write marketing emails, webpage copy, sales page copy, social captions, blog posts, lead magnets and additional marketing copy for a variety of clients – primarily in the fields of design/architecture, coaching/consulting, wellness/health, personal growth and spirituality
? Manage and execute a social media posting calendar for various social platforms for various clients
? Repurpose copy for social media, email, and other forms of digital marketing
? Create emails in Mailchimp or Flodesk, or update existing templates
? Create basic website design with copy in Squarespace – additional platform knowledge like wix, wordpress, or kajabi is a plus
? Assist with digital creatives (if any), various digital platforms, subscriptions, and tools as needed
? Update project management performance weekly and complete tasks by deadlines
? Maintain a department library in company digital database (Google drive or wherever client deems appropriate)
? Identify gaps and areas for improvement, find solutions to increase productivity, and project quality, decrease cost and streamline timelines

? Ensure all projects and assets meet brand guidelines, and messaging consistency, and tie into any annual theme or monthly product and cause focus
? Embody corporate Mission, Vision & Values of integrity, communication, joy and care
? Meet monthly, quarterly and annual goals, objectives, and budgets
? Track your time spent on projects, report hours, work within time objectives (ex: “please try to complete this writing project in under 3 hours”) and look for ways to be efficient while also prioritizing quality
? Occasionally create social content including visuals, copy, and videos for posts, stories, and reshares
? Assist with some administrative tasks such as preparing invoices, contracts, or time reports for clients
? Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
? Knowledge or genuine interest to learn about social justice conversations such as anti-racism and creating cultures of diversity, equity and inclusion (this is a value many of our clients hold that we need to be able to communicate about thoughtfully in what we write for them)
? Personal Development skills/interest
? Attention to detail, critical thinker, and problem solver
? People Management experience
? A minimum one+ years of experience copywriting, creating and posting social media content preferably in the service industry
? Has a willingness to learn and grow personally and professionally
? Experience with Asana for task management and Harvest for time tracking is a plus
Additional experience includes
? Basic videography and photo/video editing experience
growth hacking experience a plus
? Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a startup environment
? Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with excellent follow-up and attention to detail
? Excellent listening, oral, and written communication and presentation skills
? Extensive abilities are required with Google G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Dropbox, Canva
? Experience working in a small but growing company environment is strongly preferred
