Overview
As our copywriter, you’ll be a storyteller who takes information from our global cleanup crew and turns it into engaging, story-driven content for our blog and social media channels. As an essential part of the creative process, you’ll be entrusted with 4ocean’s brand voice and become instrumental in crafting the overall message of our global cleanup initiatives and company story to a broad range of loyal supporters.
The copywriter will work closely with our Cleanup Operations Team, Creative Team, and Marketing Department to ensure consistency and accuracy across all marketing channels. The ability to thoroughly understand and clearly convey the brand voice across all marketing channels is a must.
We’re looking for someone who can write story-driven copy that makes readers connect to our operations. The copy you create includes but is not limited to these channels: general website, email, blogs, and social media captions.
Responsibilities
Entertains educates, and inspires our audience through written content.
Takes Impact Reports, videos, and photos and crafts an engaging story.
Writes blog posts from various team members’ perspectives.
Crafts engaging, funny, and witty social media captions.
Analyzes creative briefs to ensure that project objectives are fully understood in order to create actionable, inspirational, and incisive copy for every project
Works in concert with other marketing creative teams to create multiple concepts that meet project goals and are aligned with overall company strategies.
Produce written materials with conversion in mind in a variety of formats including web, digital, social, blog, and traditional channels while staying true to our brand voice and positioning.
Develops ideas and copy for our website, video ads, video content, static digital ads, email campaigns, funnel campaigns, products, blog content, collateral, and potentially print, radio, and TV ads in the near future.
Works on multiple projects simultaneously to ensure deliveries are met in accordance with due dates and timelines
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Journalism, or related major
At least 2-3 years of relevant writing experience
A strong understanding of storytelling and a robust portfolio of blogs and social media copy
Excellent English writing and editing skills with demonstrated experience in conceptual writing in marketing or advertising, web, product, brand messaging, and promotional copy
Ability to compose effective copy with high conversion rates
Must possess exceptional creative and strategic thinking skills
Excellent researching, copywriting, and proofreading skills
Ability to conceptualize and collaborate in the creative space
Possess organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Detailed knowledge of the marine environment and the issues it is currently facing
A true passion to help raise awareness about the problem of plastic and trash in the ocean and how it relates to the overall health of the planet is a very big plus
