Job Description:
As the Corporate Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing day-to-day accounting for corporate and parent company transactions. Your contribution will extend to supporting property accountants as needed, marking your role as integral to the growth and establishment of our accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Present monthly, quarterly, and year-end financials accurately and in a timely manner.
Journal Entries: Prepare journal entries for various transactions, including payroll, depreciation, and prepaids.
Intercompany Transactions: Review and book intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy.
Accounts Receivable: Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely collections.
Accounts Payable & Credit Card Transactions: Review and synchronize AP and credit card transactions from RAMP.
Cash Management: Monitor and assist with check runs and cash management.
ERP System Management: Upload banking activity to the ERP system.
Audit Support: Assist and run annual audits as requested.
Process Improvement: Collaborate on system and process improvements to enhance financial reporting and accounting efficiency.
Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation.
Research Projects: Support management with special research projects and presentations as required.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and schedules for proper amortization, accruals, and true-ups.
Collaboration: Collaborate extensively with the team to implement changes and streamline processes effectively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Corporate Staff Accountant or in a similar role, with property management/real estate experience being advantageous.
In-depth expertise in managing Intercompany Accounts Payable is required.
Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with NetSuite is required.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict reporting deadlines.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work autonomously, solve problems, and contribute significantly to company growth.
