At Underwater Audio / AquaGuard, it is our mission to help people enjoy their time in and around the water. We do this by designing and building unique waterproof music players and earbuds, to enable swimmers to enjoy their favorite music, audiobooks, and podcasts while they swim. We also offer a full line of hair and skincare products to help swimmers keep their hair and skin healthy. We sell 100% DTC, all E-commerce.
Until now, we have outsourced many of our marketing tasks to external agencies, but we’re excited to bring our team in-house.
That’s where you come in as our next Creative Director. As Creative Director, you will be responsible for designing all of our visual creatives. This includes emails, Shopify web pages, Amazon product listings, image ads, video ads, and short-form videos for social media.

What Success Looks Like:
Success in this position looks like maintaining high-quality standards despite our high-output media schedule. We will post daily for both Underwater Audio and AquaGuard, and we will email daily for both brands.
As Creative Director, it is important that you’re able to balance a consistent, high-output media pipeline with your equally important, but slower cadence tasks like web design and ad creative.
A successful candidate will be one who does not need constant feedback and direction on their creative projects. This is a top-level creative role, and it is expected that you are not only capable of executing incredible design but conceiving beautiful design concepts on your own.

Key Responsibilities
Primary Objectives (20%):
Keep your section of our A/B testing pipeline flowing. As a key member in our A/B testing workflow, it is vital that you are able to stay ahead of schedule for webpage A/B test designs.
Maintain a 2-week buffer of completed creative for all daily channels, including email, social posts, and short-form social media videos.

Regular Work Activities (80%):
Update and iterate on paid media creative, including image ads and video ads.
Update product page designs and graphics based on input from our CMO.
Contribute new design ideas to improve conversions on key product and landing pages.

As Needed Activities:
Design packaging inserts to drive customer action post-purchase.
Develop instructional graphics for new product launches.

Contacts and Interactions:
CMO – You will report directly to our head of marketing for performance reviews, creative collaboration, and design-related questions.
Marketing Coordinator – They are not your boss, but they will be responsible for helping your high-output workflow stay organized. Our marketing coordinator keeps our projects organized and moving forward smoothly. They will help you with deadline management, project details, etc.
Copywriter – You will work closely with our copywriter.

Key Skills
Independently creative – Some people can design only with specific instructions. You must be a person with your own vision for projects.
A keen eye for aesthetics – Do your friends always tell you what great taste you have? Great! That is exactly who we’re looking for.
FAST Designer – You must be able to develop systems to enable you to keep up with our high-output media schedule (We will email, and post on multiple social media channels daily!)
Expert-level graphic design skills.
Expert-level web design skills.
Expert-level Adobe and/or Figma Skills.
Expert-level video editing skills (We don’t care what software you use)
Ability to create and edit motion graphics.
Strong understanding of Conversion Rate Optimization, backed by real experience.

Qualifications:
Marketing Graphic Design – 5+ years of experience designing marketing materials.
Web Design – 5+ years of experience designing e-commerce websites.
Video editing – 3+ years of professional experience editing videos with motion graphics.
Native-level English skills + deep understanding of American culture.
