We are seeking a skilled and creative Web Developer to help us with an exciting project involving an interactive mapping game of a specific country.
The primary goal of this project is to develop a responsive, web-based application where users can “color” individual grid tiles on a map, creating a collaborative and dynamic visual experience.
To give you some context, this would work similarly to Reddit’s r/Place game.
**Responsibilities:**
– Develop a web application featuring an interactive map of a specific country with a 1×1 mile grid overlay.
– Implement functionality allowing users to “color” each grid tile based on specific conditions.
– Create a user authentication system, enabling users to sign up and log in to participate, preferably using GoogleAuth and/or Apple.
– Ensure users can color one grid tile every X minutes, enforcing the time constraint programmatically.
– Optimize the application for performance, ensuring smooth and responsive interactions.
– Provide ongoing support and updates as needed.
**Requirements:**
– Proven experience in web development, particularly with interactive map applications.
– Familiarity with mapping libraries such as Leaflet, Mapbox, Google Maps API, or similar.
– Experience with relevant back-end technologies.
– Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
– Excellent communication skills.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Previous experience with mapping libraries/sofware (Google Maps, Mapbox etc)
– Knowledge of graphic design principles and UI/UX best practices.
– Experience with cloud services and database management.
**What We Offer:**
– Competitive compensation based on experience and skills.
– Flexible working hours and remote work opportunities.
As time is of the essence, we are looking for either a skilled freelancer or a team that can deliver an MVP within 7 to 14 days.
We understand the above is quite a limited description, but we would be more than happy to elaborate if you are interested in the project.
Please let us know why you are a great fit and if you have any cool projects regarding “mapping software” you want to share.
