Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Graphic Designer to join our team and support multiple projects, including social media content creation for several brands including a nonprofit organization, a Montessori-focused Instagram account, and a personal influencer account. The ideal candidate will have experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, a strong eye for design, and the ability to collaborate closely with the founder to bring their vision to life.

The Founder is an incredibly creative small-business powerhouse who does not necessarily have a design background, so is looking for someone who has an eye for design and thinks outside the box to create visually engaging content that performs well on social platforms, particularly on Instagram.

Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with the founder to brainstorm and conceptualize creative ideas and styles for social media content across multiple platforms.
– Design visually compelling and engaging content for the nonprofit organization’s social media channels, including graphics, illustrations, and infographics to raise awareness and promote campaigns.
– Create unique and visually appealing content for the Montessori-focused Instagram account, utilizing an illustrated or infographic-like style to educate and inspire parents about Montessori principles and practices.
– Develop a distinctive and cohesive aesthetic for the founder’s personal social media account, combining photos with handwritten blurbs in a scrapbook-like style to convey authenticity and personality.
– Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and successful strategies used by popular accounts or brands to enhance the effectiveness and appeal of our social media content.
– Incorporate feedback from the founder and stakeholders to refine designs and ensure alignment with brand guidelines and objectives.
– Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively to ensure timely delivery of high-quality work.
– Collaborate with other team members, including copywriters, marketers, and social media managers, to integrate design elements seamlessly into overall content strategies.

Qualifications:
– Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is required; experience with other design software is a plus. We are not open for Canva-only designers please!
– Proven track record of creating visually compelling and effective social media content, preferably for nonprofit organizations, educational initiatives, or personal brands.
– Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ideas into visually appealing designs.
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to actively engage with feedback and iterate on designs as needed.
– Detail-oriented with a keen eye for typography, color, composition, and overall aesthetics.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– Familiarity with best practices and trends in social media design, including engagement strategies, content formats, and platform-specific requirements.

Schedule and Compensation:
This is a remote, part-time position to start with flexible hours, with the potential for growth. Looking for someone who is eager for long term growth because the Founder also has a successful Creative Agency that she had put on hold that she is open to reviving so long as she has the right designer by her side to scale it.
Competitive compensation based on experience , skills, and portfolio quality.
