Job Description

This committed individual may have previous knowledge of keyword research and listing writing for the Amazon marketplace, this would be of great benefit. But more importantly they will be creative and have an affinity for understanding how to tell a product story with imagery. They will benefit from experience with Canva and having some ability with design programs like Photoshop and/or Illustrator would be a huge plus.
They will start part-time with a workload of approximately 7-10 hours per week with the potential for growth. They will report directly to the CEO and facilitate the following tasks accordingly.
Tasks:
The four primary tasks the Creative VA will be responsible for in order of priority:
1) Image Evaluation and Planning(1-2 hours/week): The VA (at the direction of the CEO) will review current company Amazon listings in both the .ca and .com marketplaces and competitor listings to compile a list of potential options and suggestions for improving listing image and video content for growth. Ideally this includes the following:
-Having a good understanding of how to tell the product story in the listing images.
-Having a good ability to identify the points of differentiation to express between our products and competing products on the marketplace.
-Being able to capture and organize examples and suggestions to formulate a clear plan for the development of new or adjusted image sets.
2) Keyword Research and Image Development For New Products: (As Needed) The right VA for this position will be able to use prior knowledge of keyword research (or easily learn a new method using tools like Helium 10) to be able to review key product searches and identify key elements to include in our visual product story. We are preparing to begin launching at least 1 new product a month by the end of 2023 so this will be a key area for growth of responsibility.
-They will be able to suggest possible photo suggestions/orientations for the first image on white to capture attention and interrupt consumers searching for that product with the goal of improving click through to our product.
-By reviewing the features of our proposed product and then researching competing products they will be able to build a storyboard for the remainder of listing images, suggesting image composition and the arrangement of features and benefits and lifestyle images.
-The perfect VA would be able to create visual examples in Canva that will either be utilized or tested on the listings or used to provide clear direction to a third party design contractor for the development of the final images.
-A bonus would be if the VA had previous experience of using Pickfu polls to suggest and test visual listing variables.
3) A+ Content Planning and Development: The right creative VA for this position will be able to extend the story from the listing images into the development of A+ content. They will be able to plan images and layout suggestions and understand how to build A+ content on the Amazon marketplace for both current products and new products. Ideally they will have experience with natural health, personal care and or topical products they will have given them an awareness around the compliance requirements and language regarding health claims to help avoid product suspensions.
4) Listing development (2-4 hours/week): Assist the CEO by contributing to active listing revision through the suggested updates in the “Listing Quality Dashboard” This task will include the following:
Being able to complete or learn to complete keyword research for active listings and suggest/implement listing updates for better keyword optimization.
-Being able to review listing images related to competitor listings and either generate new images for testing utilizing Canva or present the scope of the project for outsourcing to the CEO with a budget.
-Being able to write a basic keyword optimized listing and present to the CEO for review/approval/revision.
-Be able to generate a plan of implementation for A+ content by reviewing similar and competitor listings and either develop the imagery in Canva or find a freelancer and submit a project and budget to the CEO.
-Being able to help establish a process of market evaluation and set growth targets to help us evaluate and find further growth opportunities within our existing catalogue.
5) Social Media Content Creation and Scheduling (1-2 hours/week) The right VA for this position will be able to intuitively create content that is both visually relevant and strongly communicates our features, benefits and points of differentiation in social content. They will create and schedule content beginning with 2 posts a week and working toward 5-7 posts a week. A bonus would be having experience with hashtagging and hashtag keyword research.
BONUS:
Shopify Product Listing Development – A not essential but valuable bonus skill would be a creative VA that also would have knowledge on image development and utilizing the Shopify platform to update product listing pages (keyword research and SEO would be an additional asset.)
Experience/Competencies
The right individual for this position will benefit from or have some prior experience in the following areas.
-Knowledge and experience with Canva is a must.
-Having experience with tools like Photoshop or Illustrator would be a huge asset.
-Having previous experience developing or managing social media for a natural products, skincare or personal care brand would be a huge asset.
-Experience or familiarity with the Helium10 suite of tools is an asset.
-Previous experience with Amazon Seller Central is a requirement.
-Previous experience with listing writing and Amazon keyword research is an asset.
The right candidate for this position will be able to follow a video of written guidelines as to how the task is completed, or work with the CEO using their experience and expertise to establish a consistent method or process for each task. They will always feel confident to contribute their own experience to better develop the workflow, and may be asked to write out a complete SOP for each process to form their personal operations manual.
