Credit Controller/Accountant

We are looking for a credit controller/accountant to provide a range of financial services for 3 start-up companies in the UK owned by the same director. These include a marketing company (B23 Media Ltd), a cyber security company (Zen Cyber Ltd), and a property investing company (Stoic Investing Ltd).

These businesses are all growing and there has become a clear requirement for professional financial support to assist the management team and work alongside our accountants. Whilst initially this role is offered at 20 hours a week, it is extremely likely that a full-time position will become available in the near future as the companies continue to grow.

We are looking for:
Skilled project financial controller with excellent financial management, accounting, and Xero skills with a can-do attitude. You will be responsible for :

• Accurate bookkeeping, maintaining Xero, transactions, attaching receipts with each transaction
• Preparation of UK payroll for all existing staff and coordination with the CEO
• Preparation of UK VAT submissions summary for accountant review
• Liaising with company accountants and HMRC
• Working with our accountants to prepare the end-of-year accounts
• Submitting confirmation statements
• Producing financial reports and projects for the management team to aid profitable company growth
• Review supplier’s invoices
• Review staff expenses
• Submission of invoices to Customers
• Helping the director prepare personal tax submissions

The Requirements:
– UK financial management experience is preferred
– ACCA, Degree in Finance and Accounts, Xero experience
– At least 5 years of financial management experience
– Sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability to manage and coordinate financial tasks across the businesses
– Excellent communication skills (written and Zoom)
– Positive mental and problem-solving attitude
– Hard worker, result-oriented, multi-tasker, and must have the ability to handle high-pressurized environments and should have the ability to talk proactively with internal management.
– Excellent use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel as most of the reporting and tracking of the project will be done in MS Office
– You will be working with an experienced management team and the scope and hours associated with this role may expand
– Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure paying good attention to detail
– Self-motivated and able to take initiative, and self-manage workload without supervision

– Communication / Reporting / Financial Management Skills: The right candidate will be closely working with the managing director therefore communication and reporting skills are extremely important.
