Crypto Compliance Officer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Compliance Officer to join our Peer-to-Peer (P2P) cryptocurrency exchange. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our platform adheres to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements while also developing and implementing strategies to mitigate fraud risks. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in cryptocurrency regulations, possesses a strong understanding of compliance processes, and has a proven track record of effectively managing and enhancing compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities:
* Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with global cryptocurrency regulations, AML (Anti-Money Laundering), KYC (Know Your Customer), and CTF (Counter-Terrorist Financing) requirements, and ensure the platform’s compliance with these standards.
* Compliance Processes: Design, implement, and oversee compliance processes, including customer onboarding, transaction monitoring, and reporting suspicious activities, while ensuring seamless user experience.
* Risk Assessment: Conduct ongoing risk assessments to identify potential compliance and fraud risks associated with the exchange’s operations, and develop strategies to address these risks effectively.
* Policy Development: Develop, review, and update compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with changing regulatory landscapes and industry best practices.
* Training and Education: Provide training and education to internal teams about compliance-related matters, ensuring a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization.
* Fraud Prevention and Detection: Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to enhance fraud detection systems, investigate suspicious activities, and implement measures to reduce fraud risks.
* Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular compliance reports for management, regulators, and external auditors, outlining the exchange’s compliance posture and measures taken to mitigate risks.
* Regulatory Engagement: Serve as a point of contact for regulatory authorities, responding to inquiries and participating in audits and examinations as needed.
* Internal Monitoring: Implement systems for ongoing internal monitoring and self-assessment of compliance procedures, promptly addressing any identified issues.
* Data Privacy: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, safeguarding user information and maintaining the highest standards of data protection.

Qualifications:
* Proven experience (2+ years) in a compliance role within the cryptocurrency, fintech, or financial services industry.
* In-depth knowledge of global cryptocurrency regulations, AML, KYC, and CTF requirements.
* Strong understanding of fraud prevention and detection strategies in the digital environment.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex compliance concepts to non-experts.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
* Proficiency in using compliance and fraud detection tools/software.
* Ethical, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
