Job Summary:
As a Cybersecurity Specialist at Squad Inventive, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our digital assets, mitigating risks, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective security measures, monitoring and detecting potential threats, and implementing best practices to enhance our overall cybersecurity posture. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and project managers, to integrate security measures seamlessly throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures in line with industry standards and best practices.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in web and app design/development projects.

Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure coding practices and perform code reviews to identify and remediate security flaws.

Monitor and analyze security events and incidents using various security tools and technologies to detect and respond to potential threats.

Design, implement, and manage security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption mechanisms.

Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and regulatory requirements to proactively identify and address potential risks.

Conduct security awareness training sessions for employees to promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness and compliance.
Respond to security incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and provide timely incident response and recovery actions.
Collaborate with clients and external stakeholders to address their security concerns, provide security recommendations, and ensure compliance with relevant security standards.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry developments to continuously enhance the organization’s cybersecurity capabilities.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are highly desirable.

Proven experience as a cybersecurity professional, preferably in a web and app design/development environment.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, methodologies, and technologies, including network security, application security, and secure coding practices.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Proficiency in security assessment tools, vulnerability scanning tools, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Experience with cloud security and knowledge of cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Solid understanding of web application architecture, APIs, and common web vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex security issues and provide effective solutions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
