What is HUUB?
HUUB is a city-wide, data-driven, digital entrepreneur support platform for entrepreneurs. Our goal is to create access to vital entrepreneur resources for small business owners so they can survive, thrive and build generational wealth. We do this through our digital platform that helps city governments deliver: free learning programs, and social feeds, find free or discounted consultants and connect the resources in their community to better serve business owners.

We adapt swiftly and thoughtfully to the needs of our communities, while always taking pause to ask questions and challenge ourselves to think bigger as we grow and scale.

Where we need help:
The HUUB team is seeking a Data Analyst to join our team. We’re looking for resourceful candidates with SQL and Metabase proficiency and experience with data analysis and reporting, to create data-driven strategies to help improve our processes.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for data, a highly analytical mind, curiosity to ask questions, and the resourcefulness to answer them. This individual should have foundational mathematics knowledge from coursework, an understanding of common statistical testing concepts, and the ability to communicate complex data concepts in clear, precise language (both verbal and written).

What does the job entail today?
Retrieve, extract, and research data from multiple sources.
Provide technical expertise in the data storage structure, data mining, and data cleansing.
Manage master data, including creation, update, and deletion.
Provide quality assurance of imported data, and support initiatives for data integrity.
Troubleshoot reporting database environment and reports.
Support data warehousing to identify and revise reporting requirements.
Discover patterns, analyze, and synthesize data collected from analytics tools, public datasets, and other sources
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Develop specialized data visualizations and reports to illustrate key insights
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports
Communicate findings and collaborate with our CEO to surface and vet findings from investigations, and recommend solutions and suggestions.
Design metrics, reports, and dashboards that help stakeholders better understand demographic, engagement, and impact of the HUUB platform.
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Evaluate the overall performance and effectiveness of implemented strategies.
Develop reliable and scalable processes for data collection, filtering, and analysis.
Identify development opportunities to streamline and improve operations.
Provide training to team members for new reports and reporting dashboards.

The practical skills needed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Studies, Management, Accounting, or other related fields.
Proven work experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques, with expert organizational and forecasting skills, and the ability to recognize patterns and trends in data, and assess potential risks.
Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide recommendations, with proficiency in articulating data requirements into non-technical terms
Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings
Experience with web analytics, and integrating software/programs to data services.
Ability to work remotely on multiple tasks, with little or no supervision.
