Data Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our start-up team. The ideal candidate should possess a unique blend of technical expertise, analytical prowess, and effective communication skills. As a Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, driving informed decision-making within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and prepare data for analysis, identifying errors, outliers, and transforming data into a usable format.
• Conduct data analysis and exploration using statistical methods to test hypotheses, identify trends, and make predictions.
• Utilize programming languages, particularly Python and/or R, along with libraries like pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn for effective data manipulation and analysis.
• Query databases using SQL, with knowledge of database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL.
• Create insightful dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Word.
• Visualize data using tools and libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, Power BI, or ggplot2.
• Apply machine learning techniques to automate tasks, identify patterns, and make predictions.
• Excel proficiency for data analysis and visualization in various scenarios.
• Employ critical thinking skills to approach problems logically and make informed decisions based on data.
• Pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data analysis and recognize anomalies or errors.
• Communicate findings effectively, both in written and oral formats, to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrate problem-solving abilities by providing data-driven solutions to business problems.
• Collaborate with other departments or teams, understanding their needs and providing relevant data insights.
• Exercise ethical judgment in recognizing the implications of data usage, storage, and analysis, especially in terms of privacy and security.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, showcasing successful data-driven decision-making.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or R.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and methods.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and applications.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
