Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst Accountant to join our team – a prominent heavy machinery and logistics company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and data analysis techniques, combined with a deep understanding of the heavy machinery and logistics industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our financial success by providing critical insights through data-driven analysis.

Schedule: Part time (4 hours) during US business hours

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Operations, and IT to gather, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data related to the heavy machinery and logistics sector.
Develop and maintain financial models and forecasting tools to assess the company’s financial performance, revenue projections, and cost management within the industry context.
Perform variance analysis on financial statements and operational metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports that offer meaningful insights into the company’s financial health, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the heavy machinery and logistics sector, and provide actionable recommendations for performance optimization.
Participate in budgeting and financial planning processes, providing data-driven input to ensure realistic and attainable financial goals.
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary data and insights to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the accuracy and relevance of financial analysis within the heavy machinery and logistics domain.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the finance and accounting functions to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Accountant, Financial Analyst, or Data Analyst, preferably within the heavy machinery and logistics industry.
Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, etc.), and accounting software (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Familiarity with operational and financial metrics specific to the heavy machinery and logistics sector.
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
Adaptability to evolving business needs and changing priorities.
