Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to join our dynamic team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the M&A team by providing data-driven insights and analysis to facilitate informed decision-making during the deal-making process. Your expertise in data analysis and ability to interpret complex datasets will be essential in evaluating potential mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
***Data collection and organization:
– Gather and compile relevant data from various sources, including financial statements, market research reports, industry databases, and internal company records.
– Ensure data is accurately organized, structured, and readily accessible for analysis.

***Financial analysis:
– Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
– Evaluate the financial health, performance, and key financial metrics of target companies.
– Identify potential risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement based on financial data analysis.

***Due diligence support:
– Assist in the due diligence process by thoroughly evaluating the target company’s operations, finances, and market position.
– Identify any discrepancies, potential legal or financial liabilities, or other issues that may impact the viability of the M&A transaction.
– Prepare comprehensive due diligence reports summarizing findings and recommendations.

***Forecasting and modeling:
– Develop financial models and perform forecasting to assess potential financial outcomes of M&A transactions.
– Project revenue, costs, profitability, and other financial metrics to estimate the expected value and synergies resulting from the merger or acquisition.
– Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis to evaluate different M&A scenarios and their financial implications.

***Valuation analysis:
– Utilize various valuation methods, such as discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis, to determine the target company’s value.
– Analyze and interpret valuation results to provide accurate and comprehensive valuation assessments.
– Prepare valuation reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.

***Market research and competitive analysis:
– Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities relevant to the M&A transaction.
– Analyze market data, benchmarks, and industry reports to provide insights on market dynamics and competitive positioning of the target company.
– Present market research findings and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner.

***Reporting and presentation:
– Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations summarizing analysis, insights, and recommendations.
– Use data visualization techniques and tools to present complex data in a visually appealing and easily understandable manner.
– Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
– Preferred education in finance, economics, business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
– Proven experience as a data analyst, financial analyst, or related role, preferably within an M&A environment.
– Strong analytical and quantitative skills with keen attention to detail.
– Proficiency in financial analysis, financial modeling, and valuation techniques.
– Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) are highly desirable.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
– Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
– Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions concepts, processes, and regulatory requirements.
– Familiarity with industry databases, financial research sources, and market analysis tools.
– Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

This position is full-time (40 hours a week-Eastern Time Zone)
