Data Engineer for Data Platform

Overview:

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team for a new Proof of Concept (PoC) project. The aim is to develop a one-stop data platform for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The platform will centralise data from various systems like CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), ad accounts (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads), and accounting platforms (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks). The goal is to deliver all insights about a business in one place.

The initial PoC will involve integrating data from different platforms and building uniform data models for each type. For example, we will create a CRM data model to handle data from Salesforce and HubSpot etc , an accounting data model to handle data from Xero and QuickBooks etc. These data models will be used to deliver data visualisations that help businesses understand their current state and, later on, build artificial intelligence models.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Ingestion:
Utilise Fivetran for data ingestion from various platforms.
Develop robust methods to ingest data into relevant data models.

Data Modelling:
Create uniform data models for different platform types:
CRM, Accounting, Sales, Marketing etc

Data Transformation:
Collaborate on how to transform the ingested data.
Align data structures to facilitate visualisation and AI modelling.

Collaboration:
Work closely with team members to ensure cohesive data processes.
Participate in collaborative exercises to determine data transformation strategies.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:
Experience with data engineering, preferably using Fivetran.
Strong skills in data modelling and transformation.

Analytical Skills:
Ability to develop data models for various platforms.

Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to develop methods for uniform data ingestion.

Teamwork Skills:
Strong collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Project Future:
The PoC aims to build a robust method for ingesting data from various platforms into different data models. In the future, the project will focus on creating AI models to predict which leads are likely to convert and how to optimise marketing spend. As the project progresses, it will also focus on linking different data models together for a comprehensive view of business performance. The long-term vision is to create a unified platform that empowers SMEs to make data-driven decisions and maximise profits.
