There are multiple facets to this role.

You will be working with the existing data team to develop and maintain ETL systems for importing data for new customers, you will also be responsible for helping to maintain the reliability of our systems by setting up and monitoring alerts within the system and the databases to ensure that everything is running smoothly!

Responsibilities include:

Planning ahead and prioritising work for imports and exports of data and coordinating between the data and onboarding teams.
Conducting data consultations with new clients, setting their expectations, and encouraging them through our standard process and ensuring that clients understand their data requirements. Responding to and resoling feedback after an import
Performing data imports and making improvements to the ETL system as we learn more about common data structures for our prospects and receive data in new formats.
Developing and maintaining visibility to monitor the health performance of the software and alerting the team to any issues that require attention
Developing and maintaining visibility to monitor and optimise Trail’s Azure resources for performance, reliability, cost and security.
Performing maintenance operations such as creating backups and improving database indices or poor performing queries.

Desired skills/competencies/traits:

Excellent relationship management and communication skills – be able to effectively communicate and set expectations with clients, as well as being able to liaise and coordinate with internal staff.
Technical Expertise
Interest and motivation for complex data structures and relationships.
High level of proficiency in C# and SQL programming.
Previous ETL experience is ideal.
Software and cloud infrastructure experience (Azure, TeamCity, Github Actions)
Effective time management – the ability to prioritise and perform tasks to set deadlines and set actionable outcomes and due dates.
Critical attention to detail – the ability to see patterns and to compare datasets for consistency to ensure effective data transfer is achieved
Process orientation – critically look for efficiency gains in process improvements to be able to see areas to implement changes
