Data Engineer (with a background in Alteryx) – Remote Consultant

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a background in Alteryx to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and workflows. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop robust data automation solutions that meet business requirements. The candidate should be proficient in Alteryx, have a strong understanding of ETL processes, and data warehousing, and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Salary: Hourly Rate (depending on qualifications & country)
Employment Status: Fulltime/Part-time – for longer engagement
Work Schedule: Flexible – but will need to join daily project calls during PST 8 am to 5 pm depending on the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop and maintain ETL pipelines and workflows.
Work with cross-functional teams to identify and understand business requirements and develop data architecture solutions that meet these needs.
Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and data dictionaries.
Create and maintain documentation for all data engineering processes and systems.
Work with the Data Science team to ensure that data is properly cleaned, transformed and loaded into analytical systems.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows to ensure that data is flowing accurately and efficiently.
Develop and maintain data quality checks and validation processes.
Work with external partners to integrate data from third-party systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Ideally, 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
Strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modeling concepts.
Proficient in Alteryx and SQL.
Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
