Data Scientist / Business Intelligence Analyst

As we expand our services, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Data Scientist / Business Intelligence Analyst to develop and maintain advanced dashboards and reporting tools, utilising cutting-edge business intelligence technologies.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, updating, and managing complex data visualisations and dashboards that provide actionable insights into market trends, occupancy rates, and pricing strategies. This role requires strong analytical skills, an excellent eye for detail, and a keen passion for solving complex problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Design and implement interactive dashboards and reports using industry-leading business intelligence tools to track key performance indicators and visualise data trends.
* Integrate various data sources into our business intelligence platform, ensuring data is accurate and readily accessible for analysis.
* Manage large datasets, perform complex queries, and optimise data retrieval through advanced database management systems.
* Write custom scripts and formulas to automate data processes and enhance dashboard functionality.
Collaborate with revenue managers and the business owner to identify analytics needs and continuously refine data presentation.
* Stay ahead of the curve in AI and machine learning, integrating advanced techniques into our data analysis processes to enhance predictive analytics capabilities.
* Provide ongoing maintenance and support for all data visualisation tools, taking ownership of this segment of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. (Note, we’re prepared to over-look this ONLY if the applicant has several years experience demonstrating they’ve gotten very proficient at the qualities we’re seeking)
* Proven experience in data visualisation and dashboard creation, with proficiency in one or more major business intelligence platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Google Looker Studio).
* Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Google BigQuery.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
* Demonstrated passion for problem-solving, spotting flaws, and implementing improvements.
* Confident and passionate about taking ownership of the role, working collaboratively within a dynamic team.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex data insights in a clear and effective manner.

COMPENSATION:
___________________________

* Starting Hourly Rate: $5/hr
* Performance Review: Compensation will be reviewed quarterly, with potential adjustments based on the demonstrated value added to the business and performance metrics, in addition to a negotiation in total hours.
