Database Coder

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Database Coder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database design, development, and optimization. This role involves working closely with software developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient and secure handling of data.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:

Design, develop, and implement database solutions to support various applications and business needs.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
Database Management:

Perform database administration tasks including backups, recovery, and security.
Monitor database performance and implement improvements as needed.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across the database systems.
Collaboration:

Work closely with software developers to integrate databases with applications.
Collaborate with data analysts to design and implement data models and reporting tools.
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and team members.
Documentation and Standards:

Create and maintain documentation for database designs, configurations, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with database standards, security policies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications or equivalent work experience may be considered.
Experience:

Proven experience as a Database Developer, Database Coder, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
Experience with database design and development tools (e.g., ERwin, DBDesigner).
Technical Skills:

Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL.
Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and BI tools is a plus.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases and cloud-based database solutions is desirable.
Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
Understanding of Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Cassandra.
Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Work Environment:
This position typically requires working in an office environment with occasional remote work options.
Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients or stakeholders.
