Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dental Insurance Verification Specialist to join our dynamic dental practice team. This remote role is crucial in ensuring that our patients’ insurance details are accurately verified and updated in our practice management software. The specialist will play a key role in the smooth operation of the dental office, facilitating efficient patient care and billing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Insurance Verification: Extract patient information from practice management systems and verify patients’ dental insurance coverage by contacting insurance companies directly. This involves understanding various insurance plans and confirming details such as coverage limits, deductibles, co-pays, and eligible services.
Data Management: Accurately input and update insurance and patient information into practice management software. Ensure that all data entered is complete, accurate, and up-to-date to facilitate seamless billing and claims processing.
Breakdown of Benefits: Obtain detailed breakdowns of patients’ dental benefits from insurance companies, including specifics on coverage for different dental procedures. This requires effective communication and negotiation skills to gather comprehensive information.
Patient Communication: Inform patients of their insurance benefits and coverage as needed, answering any queries related to their insurance. Provide clear and concise information to help patients understand their benefits and any potential out-of-pocket costs.
Collaboration: Work closely with the dental office team, including dentists, dental assistants, and administrative staff, to ensure that insurance verification processes support the overall patient care and billing operations.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior experience in dental insurance verification, dental office administration, or a similar role is preferred.
Language Skills: Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to explain complex insurance details in a clear and understandable manner is essential.
Computer Proficiency: Experienced in using practice management software and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Internet Access: Must have access to a reliable and high-speed internet connection to efficiently perform job duties remotely.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and insurance verification processes.
Time Management: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion of insurance verification ahead of patient appointments.
Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of resolving issues related to insurance verification and patient data management promptly.
Education: A high school diploma is required; additional certification or training in dental office management or insurance billing is a plus.
Working Hours:
This position requires the flexibility to work during Canadian business hours. Specific hours and the possibility of flexible scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.
