Design Team Leader

This is full-time and permanent WFH. This position reports to the Design Director.

Work Schedule: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM MNL or 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM AEST

Purpose of Position:
? Drive the International Design team to create dream spaces for our clients that perfectly suit their style, budget and spatial needs.
? Orchestrate our International Team to create these designs flawlessly for our trades to bring to life.
? Coach the team to a granular level to ensure enthusiasm and engagement with the Sydney design team.

Review: Frequency
Major review: Annually
WSLL review: bi-monthly

Competencies, Knowledge & Experience Required:
? Must have Architectural or Interior Design Background
? Experience having worked with international clients preferably Australians
? Any office programs/ apps i.e Microsoft Teams, Word, Powerpoint
? Open to explore on working on other creative programs for presentation, design, drafting, and construction (i.e., video editing, augmented reality, virtual reality, etc.)
? Must be capable of freehand sketch design, express creativity, and critical thinking in design and drafting
? Extensive experience working on residential designs and clients
? Extensive experience as a team leader in a similar role
? Strong conceptual design skills
? Calmly work between several projects and team members at once while always upholding and expecting attention to detail and client communications
? Strong communication skills with all key business stakeholders and the ability to adapt your approach to facilitating a positive outcome for all parties.
? Competency in mentoring other team members
? Must have a working knowledge and skill in various software and the following programs in design and drafting but not limited to the following:

Nice to Have:
? Graphic software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
? 3D Model (Sketchup, 3D Max, Lumion etc.)
? Rendering programs (Vray, Corona, Enscape, etc.)

Must Have:
? CADD (AutoCAD etc.), BIM (Revit, etc.)

Responsibilities:
? Motivate the International Design team to successfully deliver exemplary solutions and strive for excellence.
? Drive positive and polished presentations, renders, and outputs and coach your team to always meet the dictated high standard by the Design Director.
? Be across all design projects worked on by the international team, understand the various stages, and direct traffic accordingly.
? Oversee the team taking concepts through to documentation to ensure the client’s brief is delivered on point every time.
? Team resourcing, allocation of staff to ensure projects run smoothly and project deadlines are met, understanding when to bring in extra assistance on
projects to ensure deliverables are met. Manage project outputs with the Design Director
? Expertly triage project priorities across the team and manage their solutions.
? Ensure team quality control systems are adhered to, which minimizes errors and miscommunication.
? Implement and update the quality control systems for proficiency and accuracy of the work produced in the team.
? Be across all aspects of design, coaching, mentoring, and support for the international team to improve and develop their skills, achieve their deadlines, and produce on-point client designs.
? Managing the international teams’ design and documentation packages along with reviewing and quality control of all direct reports projects.
? Develop standards for consistency across the team, and keep up to date for continuous improvement.
? Ensure documentation created by the team is accurate and aligned with individual builders’ requirements and trades to easily implement.
? Consistently look for ways to improve HBB’s working systems and drive implementation as needed.
? Alongside the Design Director, implement workflows to involve the international team in other aspects of the design process to reduce the load on the Sydney design team.
? Taking a positive approach to lead your international team and mentoring them for professional development and growth.
? Weekly one-on-one WIPs meetings with all staff members, to understand the teams’ commitments, priorities, and development.
? Continuously thinking strategically to assist in driving our growing company and implement any enhancements as needed.
? Work with the Design Team to continually track and manage staff hours amongst the team against estimated vs actual hours as well as work to
project deadlines and micro design program.
? Proficiently balance the international team members at once to ensure they are supported to achieve their best work.
? Encourage the team to remain up to date on all industry developments to remain current and recommend company responses as required
