Designer – Illustrations & UX

We are looking to hire a talented illustrator with experience in UX design to create high-quality artwork for our digital media and to help create view designs for our apps. As an illustrator, you are required to work closely within the team to develop inspiring artwork that will attract our target audience. You will be responsible for formulating concepts and rendering draft illustrations from written words, models, sketched ideas, and from your imagination.

You should be a highly artistic person with a passion for creative technologies. You should be able to draw, paint and work on digital software in a variety of styles and mediums. Unlike artists, Illustrators have set deadlines and must always communicate with the team on the overall progress and development of the artistic image. Ultimately, you will be a creative individual who can turn concepts into artistic marketable images.

On a daily basis, you will:
– Brainstorm with the team to come up with image ideas as required
– Prepare and design rough draft illustrations
– Creating complete illustrations by combining painting, hand-drawn and digitally created images
– Refining image design using illustration software
– Create screen mock-ups for our web pages and application projects

To be successful you will:
– Have at least 2 years of experience as an Illustrator, graphic designer, or similar
– Any experience with UX design would be highly beneficial
– A portfolio of completed illustrations to share so we can see your style
– Drawing, painting and digital drawing skills.
– Knowledge of image editing and design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
– Strong conceptual and artistic skills.
– Any agency-style experience will be highly beneficial
– Be ready to self-manage your own work
– Happy to work in an agile business in the early stages of start-up. Yes there will be pivoting as we work things out
– Preferably have previous exposure to a start-up and understand the challenges it can bring

You will be working closely with me so you will need to be available to work during Sydney business hours (Monday to Friday 9 am to 4 pm AEST). Meetings will generally be scheduled during this time and this will normally be when the team works. The hours you work are flexible but you should be available during this time.

The role will start at a salary of 40,000PHP per month (negotiable based on experience). Payments are split twice a month on the 15th and 28th of each month and are payable direct to your bank. Be sure you are comfortable with these terms.
