Job Description

The DevOps Engineer works with the web development and project delivery teams to perform day-to-day service transition across a variety of environments; actively enforcing and developing delivery improvements in aid of both objectives of the product channel and the company’s Build and Deployment teams. The DevOps engineer must have an analytical and diagnostic mindset, with the mandate to transition software efficiently and appropriately, whilst actively being engaged in the continual service improvement process. The ultimate aim of the DevOps Engineer is to ensure that the development’s agile methodology is not hindered by missing operational requirements or delays in delivery or software transition. The ability to work to a high standard and to tight deadlines is essential, as well as working closely with key staff across multiple sites.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide technical and subject matter expertise in one or more technologies, and serves as a point of escalation for technical issues related to DevOps.
Produces, delivers, and maintains appropriate documentation, including incident records and knowledge base, in accordance with document control standards and procedures.
Provides detailed implementation/project plans across multiple, complex work streams according to agreed standards and ensures project processes and timelines are understood and followed.
Provides insights into DevOps standards and procedures for monitoring, capacity planning, tuning, maintenance, performance optimization, and disaster recovery; ensures infrastructure will meet capacity requirements to deliver projects on time.
Release management including performing deployments to various environments, peer and change request reviews, as well as risk management of deploys.
Build/Enhance CICD pipeline
Troubleshooting, coding, and deploying fixes across various websites.
Problem Investigation and Management of issues arising in various environments, then assigning to the appropriate technical function to be fixed.
Support environmental stability issues; including performing server restarts, problem investigation, and management.
Follow new server build process to completion, including tracking network changes, then verifying new servers are built to requirements.
Diagnostics and escalation of problems during transitions and feeding this information back to the development team.
Documentation and reporting problems for discussion with the Governance -Call Support for high-priority escalations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experienced in hosting, deploying, and working with LAMP and LEMP stacks
Experienced working in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and PHP
Experienced working with Ansible and/or Jenkins
Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD processes for On-Prem and SaaS applications
Experienced working with GitLab, BitBucket
Proven ability to work with containers; Docker, Kubernetes
Ability to implement and manage both Apache and Nginx configurations
Exposure to the Laravel Framework and CMS including WordPress, Cockpit, and October
Experience in Production Linux Administration with investigation skills
Familiar with DNS, CDNs, and DDoS Protection is a plus
Flexible working attitude to work to tight deadlines and meet SLAs.
Familiarity with GCP, AWS, Selenium or OpenStack is a plus.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proven track record of trustworthiness and high ethical standards.
