Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as an eBook Organizer and Self-Publishing Assistant. In this role, you will work closely with authors to organize their manuscripts, format them for ebook publication, and provide support throughout the self-publishing process. If you have a passion for ebooks and excellent organizational skills, this role may be a perfect fit.
Responsibilities:
Manuscript Organization: Collaborate with authors to arrange and organize their ebook content. Ensure proper sequencing, flow, and consistency throughout the manuscript.
eBook Formatting: Format manuscripts for various ebook platforms (e.g., Amazon Kindle, ePub). Ensure compatibility with different e-readers and devices. Optimize formatting for a seamless reading experience.
Cover Design Collaboration: Work with authors and graphic designers to ensure ebook covers are visually appealing and optimized for digital platforms.
Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on ebook files to ensure they meet industry standards and are error-free, including proper formatting, hyperlinks, and metadata.
Self-Publishing Support: Guide authors through the self-publishing process for ebooks, including assistance with platform setup, ISBN acquisition (if needed), metadata optimization, and publication.
eBook Platform Knowledge: Stay updated on ebook publishing platforms, tools, and best practices to provide authors with the latest information and options.
Author Support: Provide ongoing support and communication to authors, addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback throughout the ebook publishing process.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail.
Proficiency in ebook formatting tools and software.
Basic knowledge of ebook publishing platforms (e.g., Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, Smashwords).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Passion for ebooks and a desire to help authors bring their digital books to readers.
