Job Description

About Sky and Sol
In a world where skincare often feels overly complex and synthetic, Sky and Sol was born out of a desire to make a difference. We believe in the power of safe, natural skincare products that not only promise but deliver results, making our customers feel radiant in their own skin. Our products are so safe and natural, you could theoretically eat them! But please, let’s stick to topical applications.

Our mission transcends mere transactions; we’re here to enlighten and empower individuals to embrace a healthier, happier lifestyle. We champion the cause of experimental living as a means to enhance life’s quality. If you’ve explored diets like carnivore, practices like grounding, delved into the world of nootropics, or find inspiration in figures like CarnivoreMD and Andrew Huberman, we’re eager for you to bring your unique perspective to Sky and Sol.

About the Role
The Website Designer role at Sky and Sol is more than just about creating visually appealing layouts; it’s about telling our story in a way that resonates with our audience and guides them smoothly from discovery to purchase. Your work will be at the forefront of our online presence, crafting experiences for our e-commerce platform that not only look stunning but are optimized for conversion, reflecting the purity and effectiveness of our products.

Responsibilities and Requirements
1. Vision Translation: Given our brand ethos and product line, you should intuitively design web experiences that accurately reflect our identity and mission without needing step-by-step guidance.
2. Content Curation: Your ability to select and suggest visual and textual content that enhances our narrative, including sourcing from the web or coordinating original content creation, will be key.
3. Engagement Design: Crafting captivating visual narratives through layout design, typography, and interactive elements to keep visitors engaged and navigating smoothly through our e-commerce site.
4. Technical Skills: Proficient in web design tools and platforms, with a knack for creating layouts that are as functional as they are beautiful. Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Figma, or Sketch is essential.
5. Experience with Page Builders on the Shopify Platform.
6. Rapid Response: Maintaining open lines of communication, responding promptly (within 30 minutes) during working hours to ensure projects stay on track.

Compensation
1. $8-15/hr, commensurate with your experience and the depth of your design expertise.
2. 4-8 hours a day.

Benefits
1. Fully remote position; work from anywhere that inspires your best designs.
2. Flexible working schedule; we value output over hours clocked.

Sky and Sol Core Values
Our core values are the heart and soul of this company. The right person for this role will appreciate each of these values, personally subscribe to them, and understand why each is critical to having a great business.

Seeking Excellence
Be at your best when your best is needed. Enjoyment of a hard challenge. Those who have the drive to constantly improve, the superior intellect and long term commitment to see incremental improvements become compounding returns.v

Communicate openly and directly
We share information openly, broadly and deliberately. Have the self awareness to accurately perceive and communicate hard truths that improve others and self, the courage to do so, and the humility to accept them, even when it hurts. Nothing great can be built without feedback: internally or externally.

Ethical Expectations:
Beyond candor in our day-to-day interactions, we act honorably, even when no one is looking. One test we use is to ask whether we would be ashamed if our actions were made public—and avoid doing anything where the answer would be yes.
