As an Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Distribution Centers, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical distribution systems within industrial and commercial settings. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient power distribution, compliance with regulations, and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Responsibilities:
– Design and develop electrical distribution systems for power distribution centers, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety.
– Perform load flow, short circuit, and coordination studies to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
– Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into overall facility designs.
– Select appropriate equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective devices to meet project requirements.
– Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for construction and installation.
– Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing electrical infrastructure and provide recommendations for upgrades or modifications.
– Participate in commissioning and testing activities to verify system performance and troubleshoot any issues.
– Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering technology, codes, and standards to continuously improve design -practices.
– Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and project teams as needed.
– Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure project requirements are met and approvals obtained.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
– Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
– Solid understanding of power distribution fundamentals, including three-phase systems, voltage regulation, and protection schemes.
– Proficiency in engineering software such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or equivalent for electrical analysis and design.
– Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software for creating electrical drawings and schematics.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
– Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
– Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and ANSI.
– Experience in industrial or commercial electrical design and construction preferred.
– Familiarity with renewable energy systems and energy storage technologies is a plus.
