The Energy Engineer is part of the technical department of the company with the mean role of guiding the company on the technicalities and computation of renewable power projects in solar, hydro, and wind
Responsibilities
• Undertaking site suitability studies, site scoping, and route surveys.
• Produce an energy yield assessment report and concept design.
• Undertaking feasibility studies and wind data analysis.
• Executing consulting engagements, which include coordinating with cross-discipline teams to develop bespoke solutions for clients.
• Supporting team members to identify and pitch for projects.
• Participating in knowledge sharing and supporting the development of other team members.
• Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, and facilities.
• Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software or equipment.
• Discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects with needed stakeholders.
• Ensuring that installations and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
• Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
• Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, and documentation, support, or testing activities.
• Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
• Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
• Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting repair service.
• Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
• Maintaining Electrical equipment.
• Working and training and guiding technicians.
• Prepares product reports.
Qualifications
• Graduate of any Engineering course (preferably electrical/civil degree).
• Licensed with affiliation to a recognized professional institution.
• With over 5 years of wind experience in the development and execution of wind & renewable energy projects, with a strong technical background.
• Experience in the wind and solar project development with a strong collaborative culture.
• Good written and verbal presentation skills.
• Capable of handling complex technical project assignments and ensuring the quality of work delivered to meet client expectations.
• Able to operate with minimum supervision in client-facing roles both in terms of project delivery and networking events.
• Experience in undertaking feasibility studies for wind and solar projects.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with other technical disciplines and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at both working and executive levels.
• Must be literate in using the WAsP modeling tool. Knowledge of other wind software such as Meteodyn or Homer is an advantage.
