Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic English Teacher to provide specialized instruction in spelling and writing for a 15-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl. The successful candidate will have a strong command of the English language, a passion for language education, and the ability to create engaging lessons that foster improved spelling and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
• Develop a comprehensive and age-appropriate curriculum to enhance spelling and writing abilities for the students.
• Design interactive lessons that incorporate various techniques, exercises, and games to engage students and make learning enjoyable.
• Teach strategies for effective spelling, including phonics, sight words, and context clues.
• Guide students in building their vocabulary and using words correctly in written communication.
• Provide personalized feedback on written assignments, highlighting areas of improvement in grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
• Cultivate a positive and encouraging class environment that promotes creativity and self-expression.
• Utilize a variety of teaching materials, such as textbooks, workbooks, online resources, and interactive tools, to enrich the learning experience.
• Monitor students’ progress and adapt teaching methods to address individual learning needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents to share progress updates and offer guidance for practicing language skills at home.
• Foster a love for language and writing by introducing students to various literary genres and encouraging them to express their ideas effectively.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience in teaching English language skills, spelling, and writing to students in the specified age group.
• Excellent command of the English language, including strong spelling and grammar skills.
• Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
• Patient, empathetic, and skilled at building rapport with young learners.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with educational technology and digital resources for language instruction.
• Previous experience with online teaching platforms and virtual classroom management is a plus.
Work Schedule and Compensation:
• This is a part-time position with flexible hours, approximately [10] hours per week.
