About this position
For this position, you must be proficient in project and event management. You will be responsible for planning and delivering dynamic, engaging business and social events, ensuring target audiences are engaged and that all logistics are taken care of.
Events play an important role in the success of our company, so the ideal candidate must be meticulous and organized. You need to be able to coordinate multiple moving parts under pressure and ensure that any last-minute changes or obstacles are handled with minimal disruption.
You will need excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills. You must also have excellent research and negotiation skills to help you find the best prices from venues, suppliers and contractors. You will have multiple responsibilities, so you must be able to work under a busy schedule and under pressure to ensure the event runs efficiently. You need to be flexible, goal-driven and proactive – proactively leveraging the resources you have to come up with solutions, but also knowing when to reach out and ask for help when things get tough.
As you will be working with a small team, you must be able to motivate and care for others, and be able to provide candid feedback to help those around you improve.
There is a lot to consider when organizing an event, so you must be very detail-oriented and enjoy continually improving processes to ensure we keep up with the times and operate as efficiently as possible.
For this role, you must be a strong, tenacious individual with a creative mind and a passion for seeing the parts of a whole come together to create a successful project. This is a challenging role but will offer tremendous learning and growth opportunities for the right individual.
As an event manager, your role will require you to…
– Develop detailed proposals for online and in-person events (including schedule, venue, vendors, legal obligations, staffing and budget)
– Research sites, vendors and contractors, then negotiate price and hire
– Manage and coordinate vendors, speakers and all event logistics (e.g. venue, catering, travel)
– Liaise with the sales and marketing team to publicize and promote events and be able to handle the logistics of marketing and promotions
– Coordinate with suppliers, handle customer inquiries and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure everything runs smoothly
– Conduct post-campaign evaluations to further improve future campaigns
