We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Transit Planning Analyst to join our team. As a Transit Planning Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting transit data, conducting research, and using Excel extensively to support the planning and optimization of transit systems. The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, a strong understanding of transportation principles, and proficiency in data analysis and Excel.
Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
Collect, organize, and analyze transportation data, including ridership numbers, route performance, demographics, and other relevant information.
Utilize advanced Excel functions, formulas, and pivot tables to clean, manipulate, and analyze large datasets.
Identify trends, patterns, and insights from data analysis to inform transit planning decisions.
Prepare clear and concise reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Transit Planning:
Contribute to the development of transit plans, schedules, and service improvements based on data analysis and stakeholder input.
Collaborate with the transit planning team to evaluate existing routes, assess potential modifications, and recommend changes to optimize service efficiency.
Conduct research on best practices, industry trends, and innovative approaches in transit planning to enhance system performance.
Assist in the development of long-term transit strategies, including network redesigns and expansion plans.
Modeling and Forecasting:
Use mathematical and statistical models to forecast ridership demand, assess capacity needs, and evaluate service options.
Conduct sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact of proposed changes on transit operations and service quality.
Collaborate with other teams, such as finance and operations, to align forecasting models with budgetary and resource constraints.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as transportation planners, engineers, and project managers, to ensure transit planning efforts are integrated with broader transportation goals and initiatives.
Engage with external stakeholders, including local government officials, community groups, and transit users, to gather input and address concerns related to transit planning projects.
Pay: $2-3/hr USD + BASE RATE paid weekly, +$0-3.50/hr monthly performance bonus paid out every 30 days, bonus is based on points completed (each task is assigned points, 1 pt=$1, each “point” should take 1 hr for a slow person to finish, if you are fast then you can make more money. Making points quota=$3/hr total, however if you are fast and focused we pay additional dollars per points, some staff end up with as many as 800 pts/month which is $600 bonus in a month, if you are average speed expect to make $3/hr total, medium fast $4.50/hr, extreme fast and hyper productive $6+/hr, it can take a few months to learn the job to become more efficient to gain a bonus.
First 90 days:
USA 6 days wk, 7 hr shifts, graveyard 10AM EST-5PM EST, minimum 45 hrs/wk
After first 90 days:
Schedule time still 10AM-5PM EST 5 days/week with USA Sat/Sun off, 9 hour shifts, 45 hours/week
After 6 months:
Optional 4 days/week with 4 days off, minimum 45 hours/week (11 hour shifts)
