This position will be responsible for managing a merchandise plan to maximise sales and profit, increase stock turnover and minimise stock holding and dead stock. With an analytical mind, you will be responsible for analysing past trade, current performance and stock to execute an efficient merchandise plan and ensure maximum profitable returns.
You must have a keen eye for products and trends, be operationally focused and have a great understanding of the supply chain.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Merchandising Strategy
– Analyse inventory performance and productivity to monitor opportunity and risk
– Determine product sales mix, stock levels, retail prices and margins
– Forecast sales and stock levels to achieve sales plans and margin/profit targets
– Ensure system stock is always accurate and with the greatest availability to drive full-price sales whilst minimizing mark down and stock loss
– Manage budget, phasing, and forward forecasting in conjunction with Management Team
– Manage the flow of stock into the Distribution Center and e-Comm site to maximise sales
– Monitor market positioning, through regular competitor analysis, gathering market intelligence from a wide variety of sources to take appropriate commercial action
Operations
– Support the team with the production and logistics processes
– Collaborate with the production processes to ensure optimal efficiency
– Partner with team and key cross-functional partners to discuss range buy and product strategy
– Liaise with manufacturers on final production engineering, cost optimization and price negotiation
– Facilitating the supply chain operations, keeping an effective communication flow with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to ensure products are received (3PL) and launched in a timely manner
– Set and monitor the team’s KPIs
– Weekly reporting
Any other tasks or duties, as required, that are in keeping with the role of a Merchandise Planner.
Required Skills & Attributes
– Demonstrated experience within a merchandise planning role within an Ecommerce or Omini-channel environment
– Demonstrated knowledge of planning and analysis, including demanding planning
– Strong understanding of critical paths and critical path management
– Strong financial literacy & financial management
– Exceptional attention to detail
– Strong organisation and resource planning skills
– Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
Experience & Qualifications
– At least 5 years of proven experience in relevant fields
– Experience in an eCommerce environment is a must
– Experience in fashion or other like industry
– High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Workspace
– Experience using Shopify
You Must Be:

– Have excellent verbal & written English communication skills
